5 outta 5.
A completely original film and character in Freddy K.
When this was released...nobody had ever scene anything like it!
Tina's bedroom death is one of my favorite kills ever!

Just finished with the Infinifilm version. I never realized that so many things were cut out or altered for the final release. Some of these deleted scenes actually made Freddy more perverted and menacing. That smile is just evil and sickening. Also, I like Robert Englund's unaltered voice for Freddy over the deep gravely voice we are used to; the unaltered voice adds to the perversion of the character.

This movie has to be the scariest slasher ever!!! The Freddy make up was the best. The boiler room freeks me out everytime I see this film. 5/5!!!

I Love how this film was made, the idea about someone killing you in dreams is very new, the music is another thing, it was creepy and classical to me, Freddy looked awesome is this film and the glove making scene was a good way to start of A Nightmare on elm street, this earns a 5. ;D

This film is a masterpiece. Wes Craven is a genius! This film gets a 10/5. But that is not an option.

I vote five out of five as well. I liked it because mostly of how we saw things through Nancy's POV. I like things that have a strong character driven plot. I also liked how their was so much mystery around Kruger in the begining. Now we can all quote his history but in that first film you had little if any clue. And that made it scary. It's always scary when you don't know why something is after you.

Nancy was the greatest Heroine in the entire franchise.

I'd go even further and say she is arguably the greatest heroine in horror history. Heather Langenkamp is so underrated.

I haven't seen recent pics of her, but she was ravishing in New Nightmare. You're right either way, fine as hell with more age.
