This is something that I would expect the Weinstein's to do. I wonder how long the red tape will hold up any future plans.
EDIT:
I meant to suggest that it was something straight out of the Weinstein's playbook.

Don't the fucksteins own Dimension and Halloween?

Yes, but remember when Halloween II came out, got beaten by The Final Destination and after one day of release, they announced Halloween 3D? My point was that this rash decision to go ahead with a sequel without thinking it through is something I would expect of Bob and Harvey.

Then again, TCM has a very flimsy at best continuity Even more-so now. Haha

It's always been like that since 2. TCM 3D is kind alike H20 in a sense that at least it sorta feels like it has continuity.

They own Lionsgate too? Fuck. Thankfully no. Their finances aren't good right now, hence no Halloween film being made since 2009. The people who own Lion's Gate just act a lot like them.

Maybe it could be called Texas Chainsaw 4 because they'll debut 4D.

I would guess it ends up being Texas Chainsaw 3D Part 2. But who knows?
Kwik have you seen the film?

Unfortunately, no. I did read the leaked script, well, enough of it, but it seems that some changes were made.
Not sure when I will, to be honest. I'd like to, but the way my area is for movies like this, they stick around for about two weeks then vanish, usually to allow another film to take over the theater room it was in.
From what I'm seeing though, it seems to be above average, and considering our unique or peculiar tastes as a whole group, that says something.

Kwik I had a blast with Texas Chainsaw 3D. Not the best of the bunch but I certainly enjoyed it.

I think it's the best one since Part 2. It's just a good old fashioned TCM film. Lots of homages to the franchise and easily the best LF since the original. I hope you're able to see it in a theater while it's still playing. If you do please let us all know what you thought of it.

I really did.In my opinion, this new massacre kicked started the new year in horror with a bang. The acting was great and i fell in love with Alexandra Daddario (Love her eyes).Dan Yeager did an amazing job as leatherface.I also appreciate the fact that they picked up right after the original massacre ended.Look,no one will ever beat the outstanding performance Jim Siedow did with the Drayton sawyer character in the original massacre, but i tip my hat to Mr. Bill Mosley. Great acting, nice atmosphere and a kick ass story made this movie rank second for my all time favorite massacre.First being the original, with the remake falling third.Looking forward for the next one.
P.S. Can't wait to grab this movie and sinister on Bluray. Real nice avvy you have their IFdude/Drayton Sawyer.Total coolness. Cheers.

Thanks. I liked his portrayal. We didn't see him very long, but we got a great line out of him. "You did it now boy! You let that bitch-meat get away." ;D That's just classic Drayton right there. I can't wait until it comes to DVD either. Dan Yeager said that one of the producers told him an extended edition of the film will be released. I don't know exactly what we'll see added back in. But I want to see it. I don't think the initial release will be the extended version. LG usually releases the theater version first and then some months down the road released an extended version. Though I have seen them release a DVD that had both on it. I guess we'll see. I can tell you haw much I loved the movie and how it changed my horror rankings. Before watching this my favorite horror killer was Jason Voorhees. It's now changed to Leatherface. My favorite franchise was Friday the 13th with Texas Chainsaw Massacre in second place. Now TCM is tied with Friday the 13th. So my number one favorite franchise is now 2 franchises. If the next film is as good and as enjoyable to me then TCM will likely move into 1st place by itself. I loved the movie and really loved LF. Yeager and the writers got it. They obviously understood LF as a character and did a perfect job with his progression. I felt we were watching an older and meaner version of the character Gunnar played. I honestly didn't think we'd ever see LF done as well as Gunnar did him. I'm glad Dan Yeager proved me wrong. I can't wait to see how he progresses further in the role. Drayton is still my favorite Sawyer. But LF is the alpha killer in the family. So I rank him higher in that role. Not that it's likely. Because they showed a burned corpse in the position we last saw him in. So I assume it was supposed to be his body. But I'd love it if in the sequel it was revealed that Drayton had lived too. That he got out and went into hiding. Maybe even in another state. But decides to come back to Newt when he hears about LF appearing at the carnival. Like I said, not likely. But a fan can dream. LOL

To me Leatherface/ TCM franchise has never got the credit it deserves. With the exception of god awful part 4 in my opinion this franchise is stronger/better than other old school horror icons like Jason, Freddy, Michael, Hellraiser, Chucky, etc. No doubt in my mind.
